Terms of service

Terms of service

These terms and conditions govern the usage conditions, procedures, and the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the operator and users for the WAPE service provided free of charge.

Initial effective date

Article 1 (Purpose and Operator)

  1. These terms and conditions govern the use of the WAPE service provided free of charge by the WAPE operator (hereinafter 'Operator') and define the rights and obligations of the Operator and the user. WAPE is an information service that provides market data, news, filings, and insights, primarily focusing on U.S. small-cap stocks with a market capitalization of less than 500,000,000 dollars, and allows users to practice paper trading with virtual funds.
  2. For service-related inquiries, please email the WAPE customer center at help@wapeb.com.

Article 2 (Effectiveness and Amendment of Terms)

  1. You may review these terms and the privacy policy before signing up. The mandatory consent required for membership registration and the acknowledgment of the service guide displayed during the first visit are separate procedures. Agreeing to the service guide does not constitute consent to payment or optional personal information processing.
  2. When changing terms, we will generally provide notice 7 days in advance, including the content, reasons, and effective date. Changes that are disadvantageous or significant to users will generally be announced 30 days in advance and individually notified via registered contact methods. If separate consent is required by law, such consent will be obtained.
  3. Amendments will be applied following proper notification and necessary consent procedures. Members who do not agree may discontinue use or withdraw. Simply modifying the document does not change the consent records of existing members or treat it as having received new consent.

Article 3 (Membership Registration and Account Management)

  1. Members must be at least 14 years old. Upon registration, you must agree to the mandatory terms and the collection and use of personal information, enter your email and password, and complete email verification. Google account registration involves Google authentication and a consent process.
  2. The Home, News, Insights, Trading Halt, and Mock Trading screens can be browsed without logging in. Mock trading stock searches, charts, and weekly rankings are also public. Logging in is required to manipulate features such as stock selection, search, watchlist, and AI analysis on the Home screen, or to access personal assets, transaction history, titles, mock orders, and 1:1 inquiries.
  3. Registration may be refused or suspended if there is identity theft, false information, evasion of restrictions through duplicate accounts, or technical impossibility of processing the registration. If necessary, the reasons and verification methods will be provided.
  4. New members sign up and log in using an email and password or a Google account. Even when signing up via Google, you must agree to the mandatory terms and the collection and use of personal information. When linking a Google login to an existing account, the existing account password is verified; accounts are not automatically linked simply because the email addresses match. Existing members can also log in with the email and password registered at the time of sign-up, or use their existing mobile number for login. During new registration, an email verification code is checked; email verification is not a process to confirm your identity or legal name. Members who have completed email verification can change their password by receiving a reset link at their registered email address. Existing members without an email verification history must contact the customer center. Mobile ownership verification is not provided.
  5. Please manage your password and account information securely and notify us if you suspect unauthorized use. Unless permitted by the operator, you must not share, lend, transfer, or allow multiple people to jointly use an account. Damages resulting from negligence in management or unauthorized sharing for which the operator is not responsible will be determined according to relevant laws and regulations.

Article 4 (Service Content and Use of Investment Information)

  1. WAPE provides real-time rankings, scanners, quotes, executions, order books, charts, market fear and greed indices, trading halts, news, disclosures, schedules, insights, and AI summaries and analysis. Screen layouts and service coverage may differ between PC and mobile. Please check the on-screen guidance as reference dates and update cycles vary by data type.
  2. Data may contain delays, omissions, errors, and estimates. AI summaries and translations may differ from the original text or be inaccurate, and it cannot be concluded that issuance or trading is complete based solely on disclosures or keywords. Please verify the original text, reference dates, and necessary facts before making investment decisions.
  3. WAPE is not a service that provides investment advice, investment solicitation, or trading signals. Analysis results and status indicators do not guarantee profits and are for reference only. Orders are not transmitted to actual brokerage accounts or exchanges. The final investment decision is made by the user, and the user bears full responsibility for the results. This notice does not exempt the Operator from liability for willful misconduct, gross negligence, or legal obligations.

Article 5 (Service Usage Rights and Prohibited Acts)

  1. The operator provides a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for personal inquiry and analysis within the permitted scope. Providing this service for free does not imply the transfer of ownership or redistribution rights of the materials.
  2. Unauthorized crawling, scraping, bulk downloading, bypassing authentication or call limits, replicating data feeds, unauthorized disclosure, resale, redistribution, and infringement of rights are prohibited. This excludes uses permitted by law or approved in writing by the operator.
  3. Security attacks, abnormal automated requests, causing service disruptions, and the collection, theft, or illegal use of others' information are prohibited. If damages occur due to a violation, we may claim compensation for actual damages recognized under the law. Excessive fixed-sum penalties are not applied.
  4. If unauthorized crawling, scraping, or reuse meets the criteria for violating relevant laws, such as infringement of copyright or database producer rights, it may be subject to service restrictions, civil liability including damages, or criminal penalties. Regardless of whether the service is provided for free, uses permitted by law and legitimate rights are guaranteed.

Article 6 (Free Use of All Services)

  1. All WAPE services are free. We do not charge fees or subscription costs for any features, including Home, News, Insights, Trading Halts, AI summaries/analysis, and mock trading, nor will we transition to a paid service model.
  2. We do not provide payment method registration, paid subscription applications, or automatic billing. Member registration and login are procedures for account protection, saving personal settings, and managing mock investment records.
  3. Providing services for free does not imply permission for unauthorized collection, reproduction, sale, or redistribution of data; the scope of use and rights protection standards under Article 5 and Article 9 apply.

Article 7 (Mock Trading and Public Weekly Rankings)

  1. Mock investment is a feature for practicing trading with virtual dollars and verified market data. It does not involve real money or stocks and cannot be deposited, withdrawn, or converted into cash. Actual order queues, partial fills, and commissions may differ from real trading.
  2. Upon participation, set a nickname and profile icon to begin the weekly league with virtual funds. A new league starts every Monday at 8 AM KST, and assets and pending orders are reset according to league rules. Previous records, experience points, and titles are managed according to the standards of each feature.
  3. Weekly rankings are visible even to visitors who are not logged in. Information displayed on the leaderboard, such as nicknames, profile icons, levels/experience points, representative titles, and total mock assets/profit/yield, will be made public. Personal names, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, and details of actual stock holdings or order history are not displayed on public rankings.
  4. Orders or aggregations may be restricted due to price delays, lack of quotes, market closures/trading halts, corporate actions, or fraudulent use. Records may be corrected for confirmed errors or stock splits/mergers, and real-time assets and weekly rankings may have different update times. For abnormal usage, we will provide reasons and procedures for objection and apply necessary restrictions.

Article 8 (Changes, Suspension, and Restrictions on Service Use)

  1. We may adjust features for security, stability, legal compliance, and improvement. Significant changes and scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance; if prior notice is difficult due to emergency disruptions, we will notify you without delay after verification. For service termination or changes affecting existing contracts, we will provide guidance on measures taken in accordance with relevant laws and contracts.
  2. Some features may be delayed or interrupted due to external supply disruptions, exchange policy changes, communication failures, or force majeure. We will verify the cause to the extent possible and review recovery or alternative measures. External reasons do not automatically exclude the operator's legal or contractual obligations.
  3. Depending on the severity, frequency, and scope of damage from a violation, we may issue warnings, restrict certain features, temporarily suspend access, or terminate the agreement. In principle, we will provide notice of the reason, duration, and method for filing an objection, and offer an opportunity to explain. In urgent situations involving significant security breaches or risks of widespread damage, we may impose restrictions first and provide notice afterward.

Article 9 (Intellectual Property Rights and External Services)

  1. Rights to screens, programs, compilations, and analysis results produced by the operator belong to the operator or the rightful owner. Rights to third-party materials such as news, disclosures, price quotes, and corporate logos belong to their respective owners, and the fact that they can be viewed on WAPE does not mean that separate usage permission has been granted.
  2. Unauthorized reproduction or redistribution of code, text, graphics, and creative screen expressions owned by the operator is prohibited. The same standards apply when using AI tools. This excludes uses permitted by law. If infringement is confirmed, we may demand the cessation of such infringement via formal notice and take civil or criminal legal action in accordance with relevant laws. This notice clarifies existing rights protection standards and does not restrict searching or indexing by standard search engines.
  3. The content of external links and contracts for external services are governed by the relationship between the respective provider and the user. We are not a party to external transactions in which the operator is not involved, and we do not guarantee the fulfillment of external transactions for which the operator is not responsible.

Article 10 (Scope of Liability)

  1. The operator is not liable for market price fluctuations, independent investment decisions made by users, communication environment issues, or force majeure events, to the extent permitted by law. Damages resulting from special circumstances, such as projected profits or loss of opportunity, will be determined according to the requirements of relevant laws.
  2. We do not guarantee the completeness or immediacy of data, nor its suitability for any specific investment purpose. However, this does not waive our obligations to provide agreed-upon services, take necessary measures in the event of errors, or address liabilities arising from the operator's willful misconduct, gross negligence, or liabilities that cannot be excluded by law.

Article 11 (Membership Withdrawal and Change of Operating Entity)

  1. Members may withdraw after verifying their identity in My Page under My Information. Deletion of personal information and statutory retention will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Common market data, news, and reports, which are separate from personal records, may be retained after withdrawal.
  2. If the operating entity or personal information processor changes due to a merger or business transfer, we will notify you in advance of the transfer, the name/address/contact information of the new operator, and how users can opt out, in accordance with relevant laws. Necessary contract succession and consent procedures will be conducted separately; these terms do not constitute comprehensive prior consent to a transfer to an as-yet-undetermined operator.

Article 12 (Customer Inquiries and Dispute Resolution)

  1. Inquiries regarding service errors and general use should be sent to the customer service email at help@wapeb.com. Inquiries regarding the interpretation of terms, objections to usage restrictions, and disputes are handled by the WAPE Legal Team (legal@wapeb.com). Email inquiries can be made without logging in, and the 1:1 inquiry feature on My Page is also available. The operator will verify the facts and provide the results or a schedule for processing. Please do not include sensitive information such as passwords, authentication codes, or full credit card numbers in your inquiries.
  2. Inquiries regarding personal information and requests for the exercise of rights should be directed to the WAPE Privacy Officer (privacy@wapeb.com).
  3. Please send reports of security vulnerabilities and security-related inquiries to the WAPE security team (security@wapeb.com).
  4. The laws of the Republic of Korea apply, and protections under mandatory consumer protection laws are not excluded. The competent court will be determined in accordance with relevant laws. Even if some provisions are found to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
